Administrative court Accepts Laborers' Requests in Minimum Wage Case Social Insurance Officials in Treasury Ministry Receive A Delegation of Information Centers Employees
The administrative court of state council (first circuit individuals ) today decided to adjourn both cases filed by ECESR regarding the criteria of applying minimum wage in society to 14/12/2010 as a deadline for all parties to submit memos and document files. Today’s hearing was the first for both cases.
The court has earlier decided to review only elections’ cases , but the laborers protested to this decision . ECESR lawyer had a meeting with the President of the court and explained the urgency of the cases and the anxiety of the laborers, thereby the court decided to exclusively review the wage cases along with elections’ cases.
The court listened carefully to the defense of Khaled Ali. When The State Cases Commission requested time to respond , ECESR requested a short period of time to be given to the other party. The court responded to ECESR request and granted 15 days only. This court holds a session every Tuesday , so 7/1/2010 was skipped as it is Hijri new year’s holiday. The nearest date was 14/12/2010.
Laborers cheered at the end of session and demonstrated for about an hour outside the court.
On the other hand , the office of the minister of finance’s assistant for social insurance affairs contacted ECESR and arranged for a meeting with Khaled Ali ,ECESR director to discuss insurance procedures for information centers employees.
This meeting comes after the communique filed to the Prosecutor General against the minister of finance and the minister of local development because employees of information centers have had no social insurance since they were hired.
After the court session, Khaled Ali and a delegation of employees held the meeting with social insurance officials in the ministry of finance who promised to take legal measures against the ministry of local development.
