Training Course for Members of New Independent unions

The Egyptian Center for Economic and Social Rights in collaboration with the Egyptian Committee for the protection of labor rights held a training course for members of independent new trade unions under the title ” skills of union management on 9th -11th June 2011, in Cairo.
The course was attended by 26trainees representing the board members of ten independent trade unions : the union of the craftsmen, the general union of fishing trades, the general union heritage artifacts , the union of workers in Suez Cement, the union of workers Bowen Ford Oil Services, union of industrial constructions, union of workers in mooring ships Somid Sukhna, the general union of Workers in Suez fertilizers , general union of Workers in courts of Egypt, general union of Workers in sales taxes.
Ten trainees occupied head of union position and eight trainees occupied treasurer post . They . They come from Cairo, Giza, Qaliubiya, Kafr El-Sheikh , Beheira, Gharbia, Suez, Beni Suef and Assiut.
The training program covered the following topics:
• Trade union freedoms, Mahmoud Mortada , training consultant.
• Trade union organization, Saber Barakat, labor leader.
• Management of group act , Salah Al Ansari,a labor leader.
• Union Management , Saber Barakat, labor leader.
• Specialized tasks (chairman , secretary, treasurere), Mohamed Abdel-Salam: a labor leader.
• Ad hoc committees, Tala Shukr , labor leader.
• Books keeping and filing Talal Shukr,a labor leader.
• Unions experiences , Fatma Ramadan, labor activist.
The course was concluded with the agreement to adopt a training program for the new unions , to be organized by the Egyptian Center for Economic and Social Rights and the Egyptian Committee for the protection of labor rights. The new program is to train other board and general assembly on premises .
