Today.. The hearing of lawsuits regarding the arbitrary dismissal of 8 journalists from “Al-Tareeq,” “Al-Bawabh,” and “Roayah News Network”
The labor courts in the North Giza Court of First Instance and the Cairo Court of Appeal are hearing . on Thursday, May 9, 2024, eight lawsuits regarding the arbitrary dismissal of journalists in three newspapers and News Network.
The 5th Labor Circuit is hearing the cases of five journalists who were arbitrarily dismissed from Al-Tareeq newspaper, with case numbers 1977, 1976, 1966, 1956, and 1967 of 2023. The court is listening to witness testimonies regarding the arbitrary dismissals.
The 2nd Labor Circuit in North Giza is hearing case No.2116 of 2022, filed by journalist “Atef A,” against “Roayah” news network, regarding compensation for arbitrary dismissal.
The 1st Appeal Circuit in Cairo is hearing appeal No.1843 of judicial year 141, filed by journalist “Ahmed M S,” against Al-Bawabh newspaper, regarding compensation for arbitrary dismissal.
The 10th Labor Circuit in North Giza is hearing case No.2199 of 2022, filed by journalist Marwa El Sayed Hafez against Al-Bawabh newspaper, also regarding compensation for arbitrary dismissal, in the first session following the submission of the expert’s report to the court.
