The Egyptian Center obtains a ruling to compensate five workers in the “Expand Solution Company” with EGP 237000, due to their arbitrary dismissal

The Egyptian Center for Economic and Social Rights ECESR obtained a ruling issued by South Giza Court of First Instance, in favor of five workers in the “Expand Solution Company”, to compensate them with EGP 237259, due to their arbitrary dismissal, and in return for the period of notice.

The lawsuit’s facts filed by the Center, as an attorney on behalf of a group of the Company’s workers, date back to July 27, 2022, when the workers were surprised by being prevented from work and that the Company’s security rejected their entrance to the headquarters of their work, without any legal reason, in a violation to the provisions and texts of the Labor Law.

Thereon, workers went to October Police Station, and filed a proof of record by the incident of preventing them from entering the Company’s workplace, which was registered under Administrative No.4504 of 2022 October. Furthermore, on July 31, 2022, they filed collective complaints at the Labor Office in 6th of October City.

After an amicable settlement was not possible, the workers asked the Labor Office to refer the complaint to the competent Labor Court to decide on its matter. On January 31, 2023, South Giza Court of First Instance issued a decision to compensate them for arbitrary dismissal and in return for the period of notice.

The rulings were issued in favor of the following workers: “G.Y. K”, “Sh. Sh. S”, “Y.H.A”, “I.R.M”, and “A.I.M”. Moreover, in Lawsuit No.568 of 2021, the Court issued a ruling in favor of Mrs.” A.M.A”. Against “HSBC Electronic Data Service”, to compensate her with EGP 36000 due to dismissing her arbitrarily and in return for the period of notice and leave credits.
