Renewing the detention of journalist Mohamed Moustafa Mousa for 15 days pending investigation in Case No.1977

On Monday, November 28, 2022, Supreme State Security Prosecution decided to renew the detention of journalist Mohamed Moustafa Mousa for 15 days pending investigations in Case No.1977 of 2022 Supreme State Security counting, after two weeks of arresting him in Alexandria.
The lawyer of the Egyptian Center for Economic and Social Rights (ECESR) who attended as an attorney to defend the journalist, together with the presence of a legal representative from Egypt’s Journalists Syndicate, said that papers indicating he is a working member in the Journalists Syndicate were submitted.
The Center’s lawyer explained that Mohamed Moustafa Mousa suffers from poor health conditions, as he has five heart stents, calling for his immediate release, taking into account his health conditions.
It is noteworthy that on the 7th of November, security forces arrested Mohamed Moustafa Mousa in Alexandria, and he was forcibly disappeared till the 14th of November, then he appeared before the Supreme State Security Prosecution to consider renewing his pretrial detention.
