Prosecution Orders Detention of Four Officers Charged with Murdering Luxor’s Shabeeb

Luxor prosecution renewed today the detention of the four officers from Luxor Police Station for 15 days pending further investigations into charges of torturing and killing Tal’aat Shabeeb inside the police station.

The prosecution issued its order after the forensic report on the incident was issued as it confirmed the criminal liability. The forensic analysis found beating marks in the neck that lead to neck fracture and consequently death.

ECESR lawyer, and member of the plaintiff’s legal team, said that the prosecution ordered yesterday the detention of five non-commissioned police officers and the four commissioned officers for the aforementioned charges.

ECESR lawyer added that the total number of the suspects in this incidents is 13, four of them are non-commissioned officers and 9 other police personnel, that have all been charged with ‘beating that lead to death’ and unlawful detention’ of the victim, Tal’aat Shabeeb.
