Including a labor leader.. 6 activists arrested in Alexandria because of a banner supporting Palestine

Security forces have arrested 6 activists from their homes in Alexandria governorate for raising a banner supporting Palestine. They were arrested yesterday, Sunday, April 28, 2024. Their names are as follows, Omar Sami Al Ansari Goueili, Abdullah Ahmed Abdel Dayem, Shahab al-Din Ashraf al-Samadi, Youssef Yasser Mohammed Farran, and Mohamed Ahmed Hamed Diab. Additionally, labor leader Shady Ali Mohamed, known as Shadi Mohamed, was arrested yesterday.
A detainee’s wife stated that her husband and the others did not engage in any activities contrary to the law or causing any disturbance to the authorities. She added that their activities were limited to the popular committee, which operates in all governorates.
So far, no official information has been released by the authorities regarding the whereabouts of the detainees or the charges against them. The Egyptian Center’s lawyers are following up the appearance of the detainees in Alexandria and State Security Prosecution in Cairo, to attend the investigations with them.
