Criminal Justice | Shebin Court Clears White Knights Accused of Insulting Zamalek Club President
Shebin el-Kom Misdemeanors Court acquitted Mohammed Tawfiq Antar, Mohammed Atef Shehata and Alaa Zaki Ahmed, the defendants in the case No. 11601/2014 (Shebin el-Kom police station misdemeanors).
On August 16, after the police arrested them, they were charged with deliberate destruction of public property, circulating offensive statements against Morteda Mansour, Zamalek club president, and belonging to the club fans association “White Knights.”
After remanding them into custody for four days, ECESR lawyers headed to attend the renewal session. To their surprise, Shebin el-Kom Prosecutor decided to file the case to court as a misdemeanor to be tried urgently on Saturday, August 23 before the Court of Misdemeanors on the charges of deliberate destruction of public property. The court adjourned it and decided holding the defendants in custody until today’s hearing in which the court acquitted all of them.
