With the Participation of Negad El Borai, ECESR Concludes Legal Training on Advocacy Skills in Publication and Cybercrime Cases

The Egyptian Center for Economic and Social Rights (ECESR) has concluded a specialized legal training program held on 1–2 February 2026 entitled “Principles of Oral Pleading and Legal Memorandum Drafting in Publication and Cybercrime Cases.” The program forms part of the Center’s ongoing efforts to strengthen professional legal capacity and promote effective defense standards in cases involving freedom of expression, publication offenses, and digital rights.

The training featured the participation of leading legal practitioners, including Mr. Negad El Borai, Attorney before the Court of Cassation and Director of the United Group Law Firm, who facilitated the sessions. The program focused on enhancing participants’ advocacy skills, legal persuasion techniques, and the effective presentation of oral and written defenses before the courts, particularly in cases related to opinion, publication, and expression.

The sessions addressed professional standards for drafting sound legal memoranda, emphasizing clarity of legal argumentation, proper evidentiary structuring, and compliance with procedural requirements. Particular attention was also given to the evolving legal framework governing publication-related offenses and cybercrime, including legal approaches to cases arising from digital media, electronic communications, and social media platforms.

The Center made the training available to fifteen early-career lawyers at the initial bar registration stage, with the objective of strengthening their professional competence and equipping them to provide effective legal defense in cases involving publication, freedom of expression, and electronic communications.

This initiative reflects ECESR’s continued commitment to supporting the legal profession, enhancing access to justice, and promoting the protection of freedom of expression and digital rights through capacity building, professional training, and sustained legal advocacy.
