Renewal of Detention for “Ultras White Knights” Member in Case 65: Pretrial Custody Exceeds Double the Legal Limit

The Cairo Criminal Court, sitting in a consultative chamber at the Badr Courthouse on Monday, January 13, 2025, extended the detention of Ahmed Hesham Shahin, known as “Bahar,” for another 45 days in connection with Case No. 65 of 2021 (State Security Prosecution).
Bahar faces accusations of joining a banned organization, spreading false information, and misusing social media platforms.
A key member of the Zamalek fan group “Ultras White Knights,” Bahar has been held in pretrial detention since July 2020, far exceeding the maximum legal duration allowed for provisional custody.
While most defendants implicated in Case 65 have been released, Bahar and a few others remain detained, fueling continued demands for their release.
