ECESR Obtains Court Ruling to Treat Child Abroad – Negligence afflicted her with atrophy in brain cells
The Egyptian Center for Economic and Social Rights (ECESR) succeeded, Tuesday, March 4, 2014, in obtaining a judgment for sending the child Habiba Mohammed Abdullah Abu Amer to be treated abroad at the expense of the state.
The ECESR filed the lawsuit No 18,000/14 last year against the President of the Republic, the Prime Minister, and the Minister of Health, for obliging them to take the necessary measures for the child Habiba Mohammed Abdullah to travel to Green Orman Hospital, London, and bear all the treatment expenses estimated initially at fifteen thousand sterling pounds. In 2007, she was afflicted by atrophy of brain cells as a result of receiving an additional triple dose of vaccination due to the negligence of those responsible for giving this vaccination. The child remained suffering from the pain of the disease and its complications for nearly six years. Needless to say, negligence of state officials to take the necessary measures is the main reason for such catastrophic errors that claim the lives of patients.
