ECESR Lodges Challenge against Deleting Ajiyon Villa in Alexandria from Monumental Buildings List

The ECESR lawyers will file a challenge tomorrow against deleting Ajiyon Villa in Alexandria from the list of monumental and historical buildings in the city, and against the consequent effects since the demolition works began.

In spite of being considered a monumental building under a decision issued in 2008, the Minister of Housing and Urban Development issued the decision No. 577 for the year 2013 and deleted the building from the list of heritage buildings in the city. Needless to say, this decision has led consequently to rescinding the decision of banning any demolition works.

Meanwhile, France commemorates the architectural works of Ajiyon in an exhibition organized by the Economic, social and environmental Council in France.
