The court ordered the newspaper to pay her compensation in the amount of EGP 253,000 for arbitrary dismissal, in addition to payment in lieu of notice, accrued leave entitlements, and overdue salary.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The case, filed by ECESR on behalf of the journalist, originated in April 2024, when she was abruptly prevented from carrying out her duties and denied entry to the newspaper\u2019s premises by the institution\u2019s security staff, without any lawful justification. This action constituted a clear violation of the Labor Law and the Press Regulation Law, and was inconsistent with the essential nature of journalistic work. Following the incident, the journalist reported the matter to the Agouza Police Station through an official record and lodged a complaint with the Agouza Labor Office after the newspaper\u2019s website was shut down.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">After attempts at amicable settlement proved unsuccessful, the journalist requested referral of her complaint to the competent labor court.
