State Security Prosecution considers renewing the detention of 6 activists in Alexandria for raising a banner supporting Palestine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Today, Wednesday, May 8, 2024, The State Security Prosecution considered the renewal of the detention of 6 activists, including a labor leader, for 15 days pending case No. 1644 of 2024, on charges of joining a terrorist group, spreading false news and statements, and participating in a gathering, for raising a banner in support of Palestine in Alexandria Governorate, with the decision to be announced later.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Security forces arrested 6 activists from their homes in Alexandria Governorate on Sunday, April 28, 2024, for raising a banner in support of Palestine. Their names are as follows, Omar Sami Al Ansari Goueili, Abdullah Ahmed Abdel Dayem, Shahab al-Din Ashraf al-Samadi, Youssef Yasser Mohammed Farran, and Mohamed Ahmed Hamed Diab. The next day, labor leader Shadi Ali Mohamed, known as Shadi Mohamed, who works at a textile company in Alexandria, was also arrested.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Popular Committee for Solidarity with the Palestinian People in Alexandria condemned the arrest of its five members, in addition to Shadi Mohamed, who is a member of the Popular Socialist Alliance Party, demanding their release along with all prisoners of solidarity with Palestine.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Shadi Mohamed, a founding member of the Permanent Conference of Alexandria Workers and a former leader in the Independent Union of Workers of the &#8220;Nile Linen Group&#8221; for Furniture and Textiles, was arbitrarily dismissed from it in 2019 for allegedly being absent from work, for participating in workers&#8217; protests against the company&#8217;s management policies.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Due to his union activity, Shadi Mohamed was previously arrested on October 3, 2022, in case No. 10233 of 2022, on charges of &#8220;joining a terrorist group, and spreading false news,&#8221; and was detained in Borg El Arab Prison Later he was released on bail on October 24, 2022.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today, Wednesday, May 8, 2024, The State Security Prosecution considered the renewal of the detention of 6 activists, including a labor leader, for 15 days pending case No. 1644 of 2024, on charges of joining a terrorist group, spreading false news and statements, and participating in a gathering, for raising a banner in support of &hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":11,"featured_media":805670,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[850,851,855,852],"tags":[],"coauthors":[],"class_list":["post-806707","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-ecesr-press-releases","category-labor-rights-unions","category-legal-work","category-press-statements"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.2 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/product\/yoast-seo-wordpress\/ -->\n<title>Including a labor leader..
