{"id":771186,"date":"2012-09-26T15:00:54","date_gmt":"2012-09-26T13:00:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress-1226656-4371204.cloudwaysapps.com\/mans25\/?p=771186"},"modified":"2012-09-26T15:00:54","modified_gmt":"2012-09-26T13:00:54","slug":"abuse-of-revolutions-injured-continues-despite-the-election-of-a-president","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ecesr.org\/en\/abuse-of-revolutions-injured-continues-despite-the-election-of-a-president\/","title":{"rendered":"Abuse of Revolution&#8217;s Injured Continues Despite the Election of a President"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Series of Abuse of Revolution\u2019s Injured Continues Despite the Election of a President\u00a0and his Many Promises<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Egyptian Center for Economic and Social Rights filed lawsuit number 6268\u00a0for the judicial year 66 on behalf of Dr. Kamal Anwar Abdul Ghani Ahmed, one of\u00a0the Revolution\u2019s injured, against the President, the Prime Minister, the Minister of\u00a0Health, and the Secretary-General of the National Council of Care for Families of\u00a0the Revolution\u2019s Martyrs and Injured for their unwillingness to perform their role in\u00a0funding his treatment expenses.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Despite their championships which resulted in the ending of an era of oppression\u00a0and domination, the [Revolution\u2019s] injured suffering is twofold: on the one hand they\u00a0will continue their lives carrying the marks of their injuries and on the other hand the\u00a0officials\u2019 reluctance and delay in performing their work is an additional burden that\u00a0may cost them their lives, or cause them to live with permanent disability for the rest\u00a0of their lives, which prompted them to file this complaint, maybe the law will be their\u00a0last resort and hope to face injury.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The plaintiff was injured on January 28, 2011 while he was treating the injured in\u00a0the field hospital in Tahrir square; he sustained a gunshot wound to the upper left\u00a0thigh and groin, and another shot to the glutes which caused a rupture to his anus\u00a0and rectum and he had underwent surgery to convert the fecal channel. The plaintiff\u00a0traveled to Austria at the expense of the Egyptian Club without the involvement of the\u00a0Egyptian government or the National Council of Care for Families of the Revolution\u2019s\u00a0Martyrs and Injured. He underwent the first part of the surgery; the second part of\u00a0the operation requires that he travel to England to perform micro-precise surgery.\u00a0According to the medical consultant to the Egyptian Ministry of Health in London\u00a0the cost of the operation exceeds GBP 30,000, which is equivalent to USD 50,000.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The plaintiff submitted a request to the National Council of Care for the Families of\u00a0the Revolution\u2019s Martyrs and Injured requesting that he complete his treatment, since\u00a0this council was established to provide health and moral support to the injured and\u00a0the families of martyrs. In face of the council\u2019s inflexibility, the plaintiff applied for\u00a0treatment at the expense of the state and the Ministry of Health approved contributing\u00a0only USD 12,000 to the expenses of his treatment, in spite of the prime minister\u2019s\u00a0decision to raise the ceiling of amounts allocated for the treatment of the revolution\u2019s\u00a0injured, and that the National Council of Care for Families of the Revolution\u2019s\u00a0Martyrs and Injured will bear the cost difference, which has not happened yet, on\u00a0the pretext that the Council does not have enough financial allocations to cover the\u00a0costs of travel, accommodation, and treatment. All the while, the Council has received\u00a0tens of millions from donors: the Military Council donated EGP 100 million and the\u00a0government deposited EGP 50 million into the fund.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After numerous correspondences between the injured hero and the state bodies, and\u00a0although he turned to parliament before it was dissolved, the Council\u2019s Secretary-General and any state affiliated caregivers did not give him any attention, which\u00a0prompted us to file this suit.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Center calls on all the injured whose rights have not been met by the state, to\u00a0head to the Center, and the Center\u2019s lawyers will take all legal measure to enable them\u00a0to get back their
