Throughout last January, which commemorates the third anniversary of the Egyptian revolution, the paid workers in Egypt organized 55 protests in 21 different governorates: the capital was in the lead with 11 protests, followed by Suez with 8, and Luxor in third place with 5 protests; Menoufia, Assiut, Aswan and Dakahlia came fourth by 3 protests each; governorates of Minya, Kafr El-Sheikh, Port Said, and various provinces came in fifth place by 2 protests each; and finally the governorates of Alexandria, Assiut, Beni Suef, Bohira, Ismailia, Marsa Matrouh, the Red Sea, New Valley, and South Sinai came in sixth place by one protest each.
